Lent 2014 & Womens World Day of Prayer

Lent 2014 ~ This year's Lent Course, for everyone, will focus on "The Lord's Prayer".

It will take place on each Tuesday evenings during Lent from 7.30 to 9 pm.

The first session will be on Tuesday March 11th.

Refreshments will be served at all sessions.

Women's World Day of Prayer Service Friday 7th March at 7.30 pm.

Speaker Rev Laura Hardy.

Everyone welcome including men.

Refreshments afterwards.

The Messenger

Our latest production of the Church magazine "The Messenger" is now available below to download.

If you enjoy reading it and have some ideas of articles for the next edition these can be passed to Kimm Brooke. The deadline is the end of February.

Get Active in the Faith

Whilst the weather has not been so good recently it is still nice to get out and enjoy the stunning surroundings we enjoy in the Holmfirth area, and what better way to do that than to join in the fellowship that the Methodist Church offers.

Attached below you will find details of our fellowship walks organised over the next few months, so if you want to keep up your fitness and explore the fellowship of the Christian Faith with other like minded people then please feel free to join us.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

11th to 21st May 2015, jointly organised by Rev. Helen Johnson.

Details are on the notice board in the Community Room, booking forms are available from Helen or Peter Beetlestone.

Engine Room Prayer

Following on from the Vision evening on 17th November, we are planning to have another prayer gathering on Sunday 19th January at 6:30pm in the Upper Room.

It's called Engine Room Prayer because we believe that prayeris what drives the Church forward.

Please do come if you are able.

Christmas News

Open Church will be suspended over the Christmas and New Year period. There is a relief team covering to make the Food Bank accessible, this has been organised by Nick. Church Open starts again on January 6th.

Messy Church Nativity Sheep Trail and Celebration

Messy Church Nativity Sheep Trail - This is taking place throughout Holmfirth now. We have chosen the local Kirklees "Home Start" Charity as beneficiaries from this event. 

Home-Start is a Kirklees Charity which supports parents in giving children a happy and secure childhood. They recruit and train volunteers (Usually parents themselves) to visit families in their homes offering informal, friendly and confidential support. 

Sunday 17th November

Our Sunday morning service at 10:30 this week will be taken by Robert Booth, all are welcome!

Just to remind people there will be a Church Vision Evening this Sunday at 6:30pm.
