Messy Nativity Celebration

Next Saturday 21st December at 3pm.

Come and celebrate with Sam the Shepherd, as he finds his sheep and travels to Bethleham.

We'll begin with refreshments, join in the Christmas story and then the prize winning sheep trail leaflet will be drawn.

You'll also have the opportunity to "rehome" a sheep at the auction!

This is for everyone, so bring your friends and family.

If you want to take part in the sheep trail then print the attached leaflet below and look out for the sheep as you wander around Holmfirth.

Messy Church Nativity Sheep Trail and Celebration

Messy Church Nativity Sheep Trail - This is taking place throughout Holmfirth now. We have chosen the local Kirklees "Home Start" Charity as beneficiaries from this event.

Home-Start is a Kirklees Charity which supports parents in giving children a happy and secure childhood. They recruit and train volunteers (Usually parents themselves) to visit families in their homes offering informal, friendly and confidential support.

Next Sunday (8th December), please come and support our choir, who, with guests and soloists, will be singing "Messiah" at 6:30pm.

The soloists should be outstanding as they are from "The Mastersingers" - Elizabeth Woods, Judith Sims, Michael Beaney and James Morgan.

This is an excellent opportunity to invite friends and neighbours to a very special occasion here.

Church Update

Thank you to everyone who contributed towards and came to the Rededication Weekend last weekend. A lot of people ensured that the kitchen was well staffed, the cake plates were full and the washing up done.

The concert on Saturday was fantastic and the Redeication Service gave us all something to think about. Special thanks go to the Methodist Youth Brass Band, including their new member - Carol!

Family Service

This weeks Sunday Morning service will be a family service taken by Judith Robinson.
The service will be aimed at all age worship and we would love to welcome all along to this, particularly the younger generation, who are always encouraged to join in with the worship activities at family services.
We are also looking forward to next weekend when we will have a service of remembrance for all who have died in the service of our armed forces. For all those who feel they would like to join us for this, a warm welcome is guarenteed.

Exciting Weekend

We have an exciting weekend in store for everyone this weekend and it starts with a celebration concert this evening at 7:30pm featuring performances by Phillip Horn, Ian Beetlestone and Bee Ororo, The Methodist Youth Brass Band, Matthew and Simeon Brook and Geoffry Lockwood amongst others (Please note this is an all ticket event, tickets cost £7 from Holmfirth Methodist Church). The concert really does promise to be exceptional. We look forward to seeing all those who are coming along this evening.

Holmfirth Methodist Church Rededication Weekend 26/27 October

Holmfirth Methodist Church would like to welcome all our friends, new and old, to the dedication of our new community rooms following their redevelopment.

After extensive building works over many months the new facilities have recently been opened and are ready to use. They are bigger, better and waiting for new groups to put them to use and so, we are having a weekend of celebration next weekend to officially launch these and dedicate them to God and his work in the community.
