The New Building

After many years of planning and fundraising, our new rooms were officially opened in October 2013. All the rooms on the ground floor were transformed and a new messanine floor was built to provide a whole new suite of rooms. The kitchen was fully refurbished, the community room was remodelled, new toilets were installed and a new welcoming entrance lobby was built.

All rooms are fully accessible with a platform lift giving access to the upper floor for those unable to use the stairs.

Work in the Community

In the near future, the Church will be open for a Soup and Roll lunch on a Friday. It is hoped that people will drop in for company, a warm room and something hot to eat.

An invitation will be offered to people using the Food Bank and everyone else in the community. The lunch will be free, but there will be an opportunity to offer a donation if people wish to.

If anyone has a couple of hours to spare over lunchtime on a Friday, the Fellowship Team are drawing up a rota for people to serve the soup and people to make the soup either at home or before noon.

Your Church and the Community

Kirklees Night Shelter project in March.

The Church has offered its upstairs facilities for one week. The project is now seeking people to volunteer to assist - for one night or more, at Holmfirth Methodist Church and/or at another Church (Possibly the Huddersfield Mission and Lockwood Baptist Church plus others) if we are not used.

A New Year with New Opportunities

The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is a unique and exciting organisation which provides, through its U3A's, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities.

Retired and semi-retired people come together, not for qualifications but for its' own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!

Members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the teschers learn, and their is no distinction between them.

Regional officers of U3A are holding an exploratory meeting on Monday January 20th in the Wesley Room.

Sunday 17th November

Our Sunday morning service at 10:30 this week will be taken by Robert Booth, all are welcome!

Just to remind people there will be a Church Vision Evening this Sunday at 6:30pm.

Church Vision Evening

Sunday Nov 17th Church Vision Evening "Where there is no vision, the people perish..." - Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

Having celebrated the rededication of the church building last weekend, it's vital we pay attention to what God wants us to do with it now. On Sunday 17th November at 6:30pm there will be a guided evening of prayer and reflection as we seek to meet together, discern God's presence among us and catch God's vision for the future of the Church.
